The Carl Sandburg College women’s cross country team received votes in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division I national coaches’ poll, released Wednesday.
The Chargers were the lone team among “Others Receiving Votes,” finishing just outside the top 25. Sandburg has yet to be defeated by an NJCAA Division I team this season.
Leading the way for the Chargers has been freshman Nancy Jebet (Eldoret, Kenya/Tulwo), who has been the top NJCAA finisher in each race this fall and set the Sandburg 6K record in September.
The Chargers will continue their fall season with the St. Ambrose Fighting Bee Invitational at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf, Iowa.
